Sustainability and renewable energy - 26 August

18 Aug 2010

Hear two experienced practitioners discuss the trials and tribulations of going green on 26 August 2010 at NAB Docklands, Melbourne.

NAB’s Carbon Neutral Journey
Warren Smith, Commercial Manager, Environmental Management, will outline how the NAB is working with its suppliers do reduce emissions and how the journey to becoming carbon neutral has helped embed sustainability within NAB’s culture, investment decisions and supplier relationships.

Creative Energy: It is not easy being green in today’s climate
Carl Daley, Managing Director will continue the green discussion and focusing on the upcoming new Federal government climate policy, attempt to answer the following tricky questions.

• What will these policies mean for organisations trying to introduce, or maintain a lower carbon footprint?
• What are the implications of a carbon price, or no carbon price on Australian consumers and the energy market?
• What market forces are in play affecting investor’s appetite to underpin renewable generation projects?

As with many issues with life, the answers to these questions are neither clear nor easy.
