CIPSA Vic event, 'Fraud. That's a grey area isn't it?', 15th June

18 May 2011

The CIPSA Victorian event, ‘Fraud. That’s a grey area isn’t it?’, will be held in Melbourne on 15th June.

The event will look into the serious problem of fraud within the procurement industry.

Professor Michael Hamerston, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Victoria University, will  be on hand to present on investigations he into fraud at the University from 2001-2006, which culminated in the prosecution of 20 people.

Fraud crimes in educational institutions between 1995 and 2001 will also be discussed and analysis of how some of the frauds were committed will illustrate how easily routine business practices may be abused for inappropriate personal gain by unscrupulous senior officers.
