Victoria faces infrastructure loss from lack of govt proposals

Victoria could lose out on billions of dollars in infrastructure grants because the State Government has failed to put forward a single major project proposal to Australia’s independent infrastructure body.

Infrastructure Australia, which makes recommendations to the federal government, said in a report that it had received 59 submissions this year from every state and territory except Victoria.

The report says the Baillieu government told Infrastructure Australia shortly after it won office in November that it would assess the former Brumby government's infrastructure plans and then submit proposals.
