Visna Lampasi assumes new CPO role at Carter Holt Harvey

18 Feb 2011

Visna Lampasi will assume the role of Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) at Carter Holt Harvey Building Supplies on 2nd May.

Currently completing her notice period with OneSteel Limited as Group General Manager, Procurement, Visna has also held senior procurement roles in Australia with Tyco International, Schering-Plough Corporation and Southcorp Packaging.

Realising the benefits from CHH projects such as Project Gold, supporting the Carters stock item procurement team with Project Platform and locking in business processes and strategy for fibre will be key areas of activity in 2011 as part of a procurement centralisation initiative within the CHH group.

“For us to fully realise these benefits and identify new ones and the pace demanded by our business, we will require alignment of our resources within CHH Building Supplies,” CEO Michael Falconer said.

“To this end, and to focus our resources most effectively, it is our intention to revise the reporting of the procurement roles in the business from local business reporting, to central reporting, lead by the CPO. This will include fibre procurement for the Woodproducts businesses but exclude the sourcing of stock items undertaken by Carters,” he said.

Visna will participate in the CHH Steering Committee for Project Platform and her team will be responsible for procurement of all non-stock items.

It will, however, be the objective of the CPO and procurement team to work closely with the businesses to meet business procurement requirements, add value by identifying and delivering on procurement opportunities and providing strategic sourcing input and support across a broad range of business initiatives. Visna will report directly to CEO, Michael Falconer.
