WA survey results inform 2010 regional events programme

02 Feb 2010

The Western Australia CIPSA regional committee’s annual member survey has revealed common topics of interest and event format preferences that will inform the 2010 schedule of regional events, ensuring it is aligned with what members are wanting to see.

Some of the common themes linking topics members are interested in learning more about concern security of supply, the impact of economic cycles, regional trading (particularly procuring from China) and the measuring and reporting of carbon reduction through contractual arrangements.  The shortage of skilled staff, contractor availability, supplier management and raising the profile of strategic procurement were also issues of common concern.

Survey results indicated that the event topic determines attendance for most members, so the committee’s focus for 2010 is to provide contemporary perspectives on these topics through the programme of regional events.  Results also confirmed that breakfast events in central Perth are the preferred format, and the majority of this year’s events will be run as such although other times and locations will occasionally be scheduled.

The committee would like to thank those members who took the time to provide feedback through our survey in November 2009.  It has been pleasing to note that many attendees are regular supporters of events, and long-standing members of CIPSA.

While this survey is undertaken annually, the WA committee welcomes feedback and contributions from members, particularly relating to local events, at any time.  Contact the committee on wa@cipsa.com.au or through the WA region’s page on the CIPSA website
